The books are part of the M Lefevre Masterpieces of Literature Series and were published 1883 in Paris by the Firmin-Didot Bookshop updating their earlier 1845 edition with a newly discovered, unbound, 1682 version that yielded the original text untouched by later editions.<br>All four volumes are in very good condition, with minimally foxed gilt edged pages, tight bindings, fully intact covers with some shelf-wear to edges of leather but no obvious cracking. The edge gilding of the pages are remarkably preserved.<br>There is an inscription on the signature page of the first volume, dated 1894, and addressed to atherine Chamberlain from her uncle.<br><br>Œuvres Complètes De Molière,
