XL high quality specimen. One surface is covered in colorful gem silica in its botryoidal form with a layer of lighter chrysocolla on top. Contains heterogenite and small pieces of malachite. Chrysocolla can also be found in the matrix. A vug on one side of the specimen contains a "bush" of malachite and really showcases the gemmy quality of the silica layer. Stunning piece with a lot of weight!

Gem silica and chrysocolla are typically found in copper ore deposit veins, where they can take on a massive, crusted, or botryoidal form. Gem silica (also known as chrysocolla chalcedony) is the druzy or gemmy form of chrysocolla with quartz, and it is exceptionally more rare than its constituent components.

Locality: Kulukuluku, Congo
Mass: ~1500g (best estimate, this specimen maxxed out my mineral scale :( )
Dimensions: 150x105x60 mm
Size classification: XL cabinet

Dimensions are approximate, as minerals come in unique, irregular shapes. Thank you for understanding!
ID: 06CGS05
